PI Candidate Spotlight: Marc Roberts

June 8, 2016 by UPICEC Leave a Comment

Marc-RobertsI grew up in Provo, Utah and am the oldest of 10 children. I served an LDS mission from 2000 – 2002 to Mendoza Argentina. After my mission I married my high school sweetheart, Casey. We now have 5 children. I attended BYU where I earned a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering and played on the basketball team. I am an owner of a successful electronic payments company in Spanish Fork called Platinum Payment Systems and have recently started a new business venture called Zift, an electronic payments technology platform. I have a passion for learning and at any given time have about 4 different books on my night stand. In the evening or on weekends you might find me playing basketball, volleyball, softball, riding horses, hunting, hiking, fishing, mountain biking, shooting guns, wrestling and playing with my kids, tinkering on the computer, working in my garden, checking my beehives, hanging out with my family, playing the ukulele, piano, or on a date with my wife. I believe the proper role of government is to secure our rights to our life, our liberty, and our property and do all I can to make sure those rights are not infringed upon and to secure them for future generations. I currently serve on the Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environmental Quality Appropriation Committee, the house Business and Labor Standing Committee and as the Vice Chair of the House Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Standing Committee. I was also appointed to serve as a member of the State Sentencing Commission.
